Twice a Day

Some do it twice, some three times a day. It is part of our daily routine. Healthy and well-kept teeth are a status symbol, and make us seem more attractive and sympathetic. Although we are taught the perfect brushing techniques for our teeth from an early age, according to various schemes and instructions, each person brushes his or her teeth in his or her own way. I use a manual toothbrush and brush my teeth twice a day. I brush my teeth for about two minutes. Calculated over one year, this is about 24 hours that I spend brushing my teeth. Since brushing teeth is part of the automated routine, I wanted to focus on this everyday activity and visualized my personal process of the brushing routine. As I wanted to focus on the facial expressions that we make unnoticed when brushing teeth, I deliberately omitted the toothbrush itself. Thus I play with the initial uncertainty of what my symbols could mean at first glance.
