Slavic Ghosts & Creature

The traces of worshipping the four elements — earth, water, air and fire — are evident throughout all ancient Slavic settlements. Not the elements themselves were worshipped, but rather the beings that were imagined living within. The gods embodying these elements disappeared with Christianization. However, the belief is still alive. Many of the original spirits and demons have transcended ancient religions and remain as part of the folklore the author of this project grew up with. Inspired by her childhood memories, she explored associative representations as a system of formal language. Now it’s your turn: what do you see lying within?
